Thanks for sharing this, Maria. It was truly precious.
Will continue to pray for you. I am thankful that God
is using the loneliness, the hole, to draw you ever closer to Him. We who are privleged to read these thoughts are blessed.

You don't know me but I found your blog while googleing some biblical quotes etc. Just now I was thinking about how God's light is like a flashlight in my life. Even though it can be irritating not to have all the path lit up at one time I know it is best. He let's me see exactly what I need to. I really needed to read our words of encouragement. Thank You Lord =D

One step at a time, Maria, looking to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith. So just get through today, one moment, one minute at a time, turning each one over to Him. That way there will be no regrets. Joy WILL come in the morning, and it will be worth it.

Thanks for reading - it's nice to know that God is using this experience to encourage people! I love that - putting on the garment of praise... it makes me think of giving a sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord: praising Him when you don't feel like it is a sacrifice. Yet God gives us the grace and strength to do what we cannot do on our own. We truly serve a mighty, awesome, loving God!

I've come over from Christian Widows' Place and have read a few of your entries now. Very good and encouraging. A scripture I hang on to - put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness--that means when I least feel like it. Guess what, it changes focus mighty fast to God, the champion of widows! Before you know it mourning is turned into dancing - until we once again lose focus.

This is why the "prosperity gospel" tends to chaffe me, I think. While it's guaranteed that we can stand on the promises of Scripture regarding God blessing us, sometimes those blessings come in packages that make our minds and emotions just stagger in confusion. Sheila Walsh says, "Sometimes God's greatest gifts come in packages that make our hands bleed when we open them."
